Our Services

It starts with understanding.

Our Process

How do I get started?

discovery-call

Discovery Call

Our process begins with a 15 minute “Discovery Call” (No Cost)

During this call, we will ask some simple questions to gain a initial understanding of your child’s needs.

Assessment

After the Discovery call, your child will be booked in for a full assessment. For children already receiving treatment, we will discuss with you, how to transition.

Therapy

After the Assessment, a detailed program of therapy is written and treatment can begin. We follow this program and make adjustments when needed.

Speech Milestones

What is normal?

Hearing your child talk for the first time, or attempting to say ‘Mum’ or ‘Dad’ is one of the most exciting times a parent can have.  In early childhood, delays for a child to start speaking could be influenced by many factors.

As you would expect, there is no such thing as “normal”.

However, as a guide and to help your understanding we have provided some direction for each age here:

9-12 Months

milestone-2

12-24 Months

milestone-3

2-3 Years

milestone-4

Who is the Clinic Director?

Speech Pathologist + Registered Nurse = Unique.

Meet Amanda Marchant

Clinic Director

Bachelor of Nursing (R.N. #NMW0001270013)

Master of Speech Pathology

Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (Member No. 29955)

An enthusiastic and energised Speech Pathologist, Amanda spent the first 15 years of her professional career as a Registered Nurse. Working across multiple disciplines, including the neonatal division at Sydney Children’s Hospital and more recently at the Children’s Ward at Gosford Hospital, Amanda discovered that children need to be understood and heard – just like adults – but sometimes cannot articulate how they feel or what they want to say.

With this passion, Amanda redirected her focus to Speech Pathology to help children find their voice, to be heard and to be understood.

As a fully trained Registered Nurse specialising in children, Amanda completed her Masters Degree in Speech Pathology to complement her nursing career.

amanda-profile

The combination of Nursing and Speech Pathology, is at the core of Amanda’s education style and method of service delivery.

Amanda has experience providing assessment and high-quality evidence-based therapy to children of all ages. She is qualified to deliver The Lidcombe program for stuttering, Sounds-Write for literacy and PECS trained for communication (AAC).

Her approach is to work alongside families, taking time to understand the goals and deliverables for each child’s needs. She believes each child and their needs are different and strives to provide individualised therapy, with early intervention a strong part of her approach.

In Amanda’s spare time she loves cross country running, playing tennis, ski and camping with her husband and two children.
